The Max Out season, kicking off from September 10 at 10:00 a.m. local time to September 15, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, will introduce the dynamic Dynamax feature to Pokémon GO. This new addition promises to elevate your gameplay with a series of engaging in-game events and rewarding experiences—truly a chance to GO big!
As the season commences, trainers will get the opportunity to engage in 1-star Max Battles, where they can encounter and capture Dynamaxed versions of beloved Pokémon such as:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Skwovet
- Wooloo
Once caught, these Pokémon, along with their evolved forms, can be Dynamaxed. Keep an eye out for Shiny variants, which may appear during these battles. Alongside this exciting update, Pokémon GO will roll out special Field Research tasks. Trainers can also participate in PokéStop Showcases, submitting event-themed Pokémon for a chance to win fabulous rewards.
In addition to these features, a Seasonal Special Research story will be available, starting from September 3 at 10:00 a.m. local time and running until December 3, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time. By completing tasks centered around Max Battles, trainers can earn rewards like Max Particles, a new avatar item, and much more.
Starting September 8, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. PDT, an exclusive Max Particle Pack Bundle will be available on the official Pokémon GO web store for $7.99. This bundle contains 4,800 Max Particles, crucial for engaging in the new Dynamax battles.
Exciting rumors are circulating about the introduction of new Power Spots next month, although Niantic has yet to confirm these speculations. These spots are expected to be prime locations for Max Battles, catching Dynamax Pokémon, and collecting more Max Particles.
John Funtanilla, senior producer at Pokémon GO, revealed in a press briefing that some Dynamax-capable Pokémon will also have the ability to Mega Evolve, as reported by Eurogamer. However, details about the inclusion of Gigantamax Pokémon remain elusive, though teased at this year's Pokémon Worlds. Rest assured, Niantic has promised to provide more information about Dynamax battles in the near future.
