Discover the Diverse Races of Avowed: A Comprehensive Guide
Avowed, set in the expansive Eora world from the Pillars of Eternity series, offers a diverse fantasy setting, but character creation options are somewhat limited. Here's a breakdown of the playable races:
Humans (Folk)
Humans, or Folk, are the most common race in Avowed and offer extensive customization. The character creator provides numerous presets, detailed facial features, skin tone adjustments, and diverse hair options, ensuring a wide range of representation.
Elves
Elves are another playable race, visually similar to humans but distinguished by their pointed ears and slightly different default facial structures.
Godlikes
While all Envoys are Godlikes in the game's narrative, players can choose to incorporate Godlike features into their character's appearance. These features include unique hair and facial options, ranging from subtle to fantastical. At launch, Avowed offers 14 Godlike facial features and four hairstyles, available regardless of race or body type.
Character Customization: Gender and Pronouns
Avowed provides four body types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Two masculine and two feminine voice options are also available. Players can select their character's identifier, determining the pronouns used (he, she, or they).
Unplayable Races
While several Kith races populate Avowed's world (including Dwarves, Aumaua, and Orlans), these are currently unavailable as playable character options. However, future updates or DLC may expand character creation possibilities.
This concludes the overview of playable races in Avowed. For further details, consult our guide on character background selection.
