Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Surfaces Before PS State of Play Reveal

Author : Andrew Update : Feb 20,2025

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be revealed during tonight's PlayStation State of Play event. Gematsu discovered pre-order listings for the game on GameStop's website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, though currently lacking images or gameplay details.

This leak comes just hours before Sony's State of Play presentation, a 40-minute showcase with unannounced content. The timing strongly suggests a formal announcement is imminent.

The Digimon Story series, originating with the Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s, has a long history across various platforms. Recent installments include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and a 2019 Complete Edition bundling both. These RPGs typically feature players befriending and battling Digimon.

While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story game in 2022, a new entry hasn't been officially revealed until now. Games like Digimon Survive have bridged the gap, but Digimon Story: Time Stranger looks set to be a true continuation of the series if the leak proves accurate.
