Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

The latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2 revealed Deltarune's impressive next-gen upgrade. This special edition includes chapters 3 and 4 alongside innovative features designed specifically for Nintendo's new hardware.

Toby Fox, Deltarune's creator, shared exciting details through Fangamer's newsletter. The Switch 2 version will contain a unique interactive space that harnesses the Joy-Con's enhanced mouse controls. Fox teased: "We've created a SPECIAL ROOM that uniquely utilizes DUAL CONTROLLER MOUSE FUNCTIONALITY - something only possible on Switch 2!"

Players using other platforms can still access this room with adjusted controls. Those transferring from the Nintendo Switch demo can seamlessly import their save data from Chapters 1 and 2.

Future Deltarune Chapters Will Remain Free

The newsletter also confirmed Deltarune's pricing structure. The complete package - including Chapters 1 through 4 - carries a $24.99 price tag. While Chapters 1 (2018) and 2 (2021) were originally free releases, Fox had previously indicated upcoming chapters would require payment.

In a pleasant surprise, Fox announced all future chapters will be complimentary updates. Players purchasing the game will automatically receive all subsequent content without additional cost. "I hope when more chapters arrive," Fox shared, "you'll consider this one of gaming's greatest bargains."

The massive 150-track soundtrack will be available separately on Steam for $14.99, with future musical additions included at no extra charge. Fans can expect tremendous value as Deltarune continues expanding with free content.
