Deltarune Ch3-4 to Carry Over Ch1-2 Saves

Undertale creator Toby Fox has shared development updates regarding the testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. The latest news covers console testing progress and exciting new details about the upcoming content.

Deltarune's Console Testing Progressing Well

Save Data Transfer Feature Confirmed

On his official Bluesky account, developer Toby Fox provided fans with an update confirming that console testing continues with promising progress, though significant work remains.

"Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)" Fox stated. The team is currently implementing a save transfer feature that will allow players to continue their progress from the demo chapters (1-2) into the full game. "I hope it works!" Fox added regarding this newly implemented technical feature.

With beta testing progressing smoothly, Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 remain on track for their confirmed 2025 release window.

New Character Tenna Teased

Despite the intense development workload, Fox continues engaging fans through humorous social media posts. Known for his meme-friendly persona and self-deprecating humor, the developer recently shared:

"I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as 'a cry for help because your game is not out.'" Fox joked, noting his family clarified it was meant positively while his friend "laughed for about 10 minutes straight."

This playful update has sparked speculation that Fox may already be working on content for Chapter 5, as he previously confirmed Chapters 3 and 4 are content-complete. Deltarune is planned as a seven-chapter narrative experience.

Fox continued: "Same friend who played Chapter 3 like over a year ago also told me 'I miss Tenna' and I was like 'man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh.'" This marks the first official confirmation that Tenna, a character previously featured in Deltarune's Spamton Sweepstakes charity event in September 2022, will appear in Chapter 3.

As the spiritual successor to Undertale (2015), Deltarune maintains many of its predecessor's distinctive mechanics while introducing new characters and storylines. Players guide Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their mission to save the world across multiple chapters.
