The release of Days Gone Remastered is approaching, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared insights into the enhanced accessibility features that will be included in this updated version of the game. A standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when the tension ramps up.

In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, outlined the array of accessibility options coming to Days Gone Remastered. One of the key features is the Game Speed adjustment, which lets players slow the game down to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the normal speed. This feature aims to assist players who may find high-pressure situations challenging, particularly when battling hordes of Freakers. McAllister emphasized, "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers. Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer several other accessibility enhancements. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously limited to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and control customization options will require a compatible controller.

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered comes packed with additional features such as an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, alongside the new accessibility features. This remastered version of the 2019 biker-centric, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
