How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily farm management. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of varying sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines in Fields of Mistria. While I first found one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, these chests can appear on any level across existing biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—they'll inflict damage upon interaction!

You'll encounter Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent exploration. If your luck runs dry, you can craft them using the Stone Refinery.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in Fields of Mistria allows for Essence Stone crafting. This structure is part of a new questline added with the March 2025 update, requiring its construction within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, with the quantity varying depending on the size:

Besides Essence Stones, the refinery crafts common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue (placed in Large Barns and Coops), automatically pets animals daily while an Essence Stone is active. This statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol's house (use Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, unlocked with the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when an Essence Stone is inserted. This statue, and its crafting scroll, are located on an island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (requires Dragon's Breath).

Essence Stones will likely find further uses in future Fields of Mistria updates from NPC Studio.
