Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

With Concord's August 23rd launch fast approaching, Sony and Firewalk Studios have unveiled the game's post-launch content plan. This article details the roadmap and offers strategic gameplay tips.

Concord's Content Strategy: No Battle Pass

Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

Launching on August 23rd for PS5 and PC, Concord will receive continuous updates, starting on day one. Game director Ryan Ellis emphasizes that launch is merely the beginning of a journey shaped by player feedback. Unlike many hero shooters, Concord eschews a traditional Battle Pass, prioritizing a rewarding base experience where progression unlocks meaningful rewards.

Season 1: The Tempest (October 2024)

Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

Season 1, titled "The Tempest," introduces a new Freegunner character, a fresh map, additional Freegunner Variants, and cosmetic rewards. Weekly Cinematic Vignettes will enrich the Northstar crew's narrative. An in-game store will debut, offering purely cosmetic items that won't affect gameplay balance.

Season 2 and Beyond

Season 2 is scheduled for January 2025, signifying Firewalk Studios' commitment to consistent seasonal content throughout Concord's first year.

Concord Gameplay Strategies: Crew Builder and Roles

Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

Ellis highlights Concord's unique "Crew Builder" system. Teams of five Freegunners can include up to three copies of any Variant. This allows for strategic team composition based on playstyle and match challenges. Balancing Freegunners from different roles unlocks Crew Bonuses, offering advantages like enhanced mobility and reduced cooldowns.

Unlike traditional Tank/Support roles, Concord's Freegunners are designed for high DPS and effective gunfights. Instead of archetypes, six roles—Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden—define each Freegunner's impact, ranging from area control to flanking maneuvers.
