Several quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 require reaching Kuttenberg before initiation. Once there, inter-regional travel becomes possible. This guide details completing the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest.
Prerequisites: The "In Vino Veritas" Quest
Before tackling "Under the Straw Hat," you must begin "In Vino Veritas." This quest unfolds in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, locate Casper Rudolf, offering free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs information to improve his wine.
You can either directly impress Havel with wine knowledge or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and learn from it. If approaching Havel directly, ensure you're clean and wearing decent clothes. Choose "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" as your dialogue options to obtain the necessary information. Report your findings back to Casper.
Infiltrating the Vineyard
Casper will then task you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Avoid trespassing by using the main road. Speak with the recruiter; this triggers the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Proceed along the road, past a guard, to find Jerome.
Inform Jerome of your assigned task. He'll provide details about vineyard work.
Vineyard Work and Incense Acquisition
Your work begins the following day. You can either perform assigned tasks (moving sacks, picking thistles) for payment or directly seek the incense.
The incense is located in the cellar of the main building. Access is restricted, so lockpicking or stealing Jerome's keys is necessary to avoid punishment.
Locate the chest in the cellar and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks. This completes the primary objective. Optionally, gather five seedlings for an increased reward. Remember, acquiring seedlings requires quick trespassing.
After completing your tasks (or skipping them), return to Casper with the wicks (and seedlings, if collected). This concludes both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas."
Proceed to other side quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
