How to Complete For Whom the Bell Tolls in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Comprehensive Guide
This main quest, following "Wedding Crashers," requires you to save Hans from execution in Trosky Castle before the bell tolls twelve times. Your initial imprisonment leads to a fortunate assignment: working as a laborer. Use this opportunity to orchestrate Hans's escape.
The Labor of Liberation: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Sack Hauling: Begin by transporting sacks from a wagon to a nearby shed. This is a mandatory task, so diligently move each sack until the objective is complete.
2. Assisting the Blacksmith: Next, aid the blacksmith by crafting a horseshoe. Locate the forge across from the archway, gather the necessary materials, and create the horseshoe. Once completed, deliver it to the stables along the same path used for sack hauling.
3. Aiding Fanka the Cook: Retrieve a lockpick from a red pot on the shelves near the forge. Speak with Fanka, the cook, and offer your assistance. This grants you access to the noble's kitchen. While lockpicking isn't strictly necessary, it boosts your reputation and allows future access to food.
4. Engaging the Chamberlain: In the kitchen, you'll find the ailing Chamberlain. Attempt to persuade him to allow you to brew a Digestive Potion. Success grants access to the surgeon's workshop; failure necessitates stealth.
5. Crafting the Cure: If you failed to convince the Chamberlain, acquire food from the kitchen to distract the guard in the servants' kitchen. This allows you to sneak upstairs. Otherwise, proceed directly to the surgeon's workshop (located up the stairs opposite the forge). Craft the Fever Tonicum, and optionally, a Digestive Potion if you persuaded the Chamberlain. Sufficient ingredients are available in the workshop chest.
6. Thomas's Treatment: Deliver the Digestive Potion to the Chamberlain (if applicable). This secures access to Thomas's room. Alternatively, if sneaking, utilize the staircase in the noble's kitchen, avoiding guards, to reach Thomas's room. Distract the guard at the bottom of the stairs with a pebble before proceeding. Give Thomas's sister, Adele, the Fever Tonicum to trigger the concluding cutscene.
Successfully completing these steps before the bell's twelfth toll earns you reputation, ensuring a successful quest regardless of your approach.
