"Beginner's Guide to Mastering Rune Slayer"

Author : Andrew Update : Apr 25,2025

After two eagerly awaited launches and a period of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally arrived, and it's nothing short of spectacular. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned veteran, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be a thrilling yet overwhelming experience. Don't worry; we've crafted a comprehensive guide to help you kickstart your adventure in *Rune Slayer* with confidence.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some essential tips we wish we had known at the start of our *Rune Slayer* journey, which would have made our initial steps much smoother.

Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

When *Rune Slayer* was announced with full-loot PvP, we braced ourselves for a relentless battle royale. However, our fears were largely unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, dying—even to other players—doesn’t result in any real loss.** You simply respawn and continue your adventure without setbacks.

However, **attacking other players comes with consequences.** Each kill increases your bounty, and the higher your bounty, the more items you'll lose upon death. Therefore, engaging in PvP can turn the game into a high-stakes affair. Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players unless you have a compelling reason or the support of a group.**

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly discover that both your **bank space and inventory are limited**. With a capacity of only 50 items, your inventory can fill up surprisingly fast. To expand your storage, **craft bags as soon as possible.** You can equip up to two bags, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from the north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**—though be cautious of mobs in the southern areas. Each Cotton Bag adds an additional 10 slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting these early on.

Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

A common misunderstanding is that your tamed pets die permanently when their health reaches zero. This isn't the case. **When a pet "dies," it becomes unavailable for summoning for five minutes.** You can check the cooldown by holding T. After the cooldown, hold T again to resummon your pet.

A bonus tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, store and then unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with numerous quests, most of which are not repeatable and can blend into the background. These quests typically involve tasks like "Kill 10 X," familiar to MMORPG enthusiasts.

To manage this efficiently, **accept every quest you encounter.** This includes grabbing all available jobs from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more effective than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing multiple quests with a single action, as we did when we returned to Wayshire with three quests ready to turn in.

Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

While it’s essential to craft what you need first, don’t hesitate to **use spare materials to craft items you might not immediately require.** Crafting items for the first time often unlocks new, more powerful crafting options. For example, smelting our first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts. So, experiment and craft freely to expand your crafting capabilities.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is designed to be solo-friendly, but as you delve deeper into the game, you'll encounter **challenging enemies** meant to be tackled in groups. The easiest way to find such a group is by **joining a guild**.

Whether you announce your need for a guild in the general chat or use the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find one, having allies can make a significant difference when facing tough adversaries.

And that's all you need to get started. Enjoy your journey in *Rune Slayer*, and if you haven't yet, be sure to explore the *Rune Slayer* Trello and join the Discord community for more tips and camaraderie.
