Battledom is an upcoming strategy game now in Alpha testing

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) title, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom offers players dynamic RTS combat mechanics, allowing for free unit movement across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay.

Players use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with only basic weapons and no armor. However, a key element is unit customization through equipping weapons and armor, each affecting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Resource gathering—wood, leather, coal, etc.—is essential, with crafting handled by various specialists within the village, such as blacksmiths and magicians.

Frenken is widely recognized for Herodom, which holds a 4.6 App Store rating. Herodom features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
