Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another swing at bringing Digimon to mobile with Digimon Alysion, a digital version of the Digimon Card Game. This exciting new title will be available on Android and iOS as a free-to-play game, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

The game was officially announced during Digimon Con 2025, which took place on March 19th. During the event, Bandai Namco also shared updates on other projects, such as the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025. Additionally, they celebrated the Digimon anime's 25th anniversary with a special video and unveiled a new project called Digimon Adventure: Beyond. They're also developing a new RPG titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger for consoles and PC.

If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same

Digimon Alysion isn’t a direct port of the physical card game. It introduces new 'DigiAly' cards, in addition to the original cards designed specifically for this digital version. Bandai Namco is also adding new Digimon and characters to the mix.

The character lineup featured on the website is predominantly an all-girls cast, which is an unusual choice for a digital card game. This has led to some skepticism among players, particularly those who were hoping for a faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first attempt at a Digimon mobile game. Their previous efforts in this area haven't been successful, which has led to some hesitation about the potential success of Digimon Alysion. Despite this, I am still eagerly looking forward to the game. A closed beta test is planned, but details are still under wraps.
