Assassin\'s Creed Windows 11 Issues Have Been Fixed
Recent Windows 11 Update Disrupts Assassin's Creed Gameplay; Patches Released
Following a Windows 11 update (24H2), several Assassin's Creed players encountered game launch and functionality issues. Fortunately, Ubisoft has addressed the problem with patches for Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. These updates, available via Steam, should resolve the incompatibility. Note that the Origins patch requires 230 MB of storage, while the Valhalla patch needs 500 MB.
However, the issue persists for some Ubisoft titles, notably Assassin's Creed Odyssey. While previous patches addressed critical problems in other games like Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, performance issues may remain. Players of Odyssey are advised to delay updating to Windows 11 24H2 until a dedicated patch is released.
The root cause of the incompatibility with the Windows 11 24H2 update remains unclear. While the timely release of patches for Origins and Valhalla is appreciated, the ongoing problems highlight a need for more rigorous testing before major Windows updates. This is particularly concerning given Microsoft's push for Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11.
