Abyss of Dungeons: Dark and Darker Mobile's New Name Revealed
Krafton has officially rebranded Dark and Darker Mobile to Abyss of Dungeons as part of their strategy to distance themselves from the ongoing legal disputes involving Ironmace Studios and Nexon. The crux of the legal battle centers around allegations of trade secret misuse, with Nexon claiming that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, utilized assets and ideas developed during their tenure at Nexon to create Dark and Darker.
The rebranding to Abyss of Dungeons primarily affects the game's name, and possibly some elements specifically tied to the original Dungeons & Dragons theme. However, the core gameplay mechanics of the mobile version remain unchanged. Despite the shift to a third-person perspective and other modifications, fans can rest assured that the essence of the game will stay intact.
This news might be disheartening for Ironmace enthusiasts, but there's hope that the legal issues will resolve soon. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the soft launch of Abyss of Dungeons on June 11th in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico. This launch will serve as a complement to the main PC version of Dark and Darker.
