Squares: The Daily Word Strand Puzzle – Maximize Your Score!

Squares is a daily word puzzle game challenging players to strategically complete squares on a grid to form words. The objective is to discover all words within the grid and accumulate the highest possible score.

Gameplay:

Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to create words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.

Scoring:

Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points).

Bonus Words:

The puzzle includes obscure, archaic, or slang terms (bonus words). These don't contribute to your main score but appear in a separate list. You can continue hunting for bonus words even after finding all the main words. A "Word of the Day," often a longer, special bonus word, is also hidden, rewarding you with two extra hints upon discovery.

Game Features:

• Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
• Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right to gain a fresh perspective and potentially uncover hidden words.
• Hints: Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon), revealing the first letter and search direction of a random word. Hint availability depends on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link earns an extra hint!
• Letter Usage Indicator: After finding 40% of the words, a numerical hint appears on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter. An orange letter signifies it's no longer used in main words but might be in bonus words.
