Xbox Dev Showcase Date Revealed
Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this January showcase promises further glimpses into upcoming Xbox titles.
The event is slated for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around a January 9th reveal.
Confirmed Games:
Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. Currently rumored for a mid-2025 launch.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), initially revealed in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
While these three games are confirmed, past Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the possibility of further unannounced surprises in the 2025 showcase.
