While obtaining them is relatively straightforward, defeating the Overlord-class enemies that drop them can be challenging. This guide explains what Nightmare Echoes are and how to acquire them.

What are Nightmare Echoes?

Nightmare Echoes are alternative variants of 4-cost Echoes, dropped by Overlord-class enemies. They boast unique active skills and offer a percentage-based elemental damage boost, making them inherently more valuable than standard Echoes. This passive elemental damage bonus allows them to replace a 3-cost Echo, enabling a powerful 441111 Echo composition. Importantly, they retain the same Sonata/Set effects as their regular counterparts, minimizing build adjustments.

How to Unlock Nightmare Echoes

Before embarking on your Nightmare Echo hunt, complete the "Dream Patrol I" quest in Rinascita. This tutorial quest is initiated by interacting with the White Cat in Ragunna City after finishing Act 2 Chapter 3 of the Rinascita main storyline.
