Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Skips DRM
No Microtransactions, Either
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive clarified several key aspects of the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, launching September 9th. Crucially, they confirmed the absence of DRM software, such as Denuvo.
DRM, designed to combat piracy, has a controversial history. Many gamers believe it negatively impacts performance. Past examples, like Capcom's Enigma DRM in Monster Hunter Rise (affecting Steam Deck compatibility and modding), highlight these concerns.
While foregoing DRM, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat on PC. Easy Anti-Cheat faced scrutiny earlier this year following an Apex Legends hacking incident.
Currently, official mod support isn't planned, which might disappoint some. However, the game boasts a PvP arena, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Saber Interactive assures players that all gameplay content is free, with microtransactions and DLC limited to cosmetic items only.
