Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, revealing a special challenge.
Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" in the stage selection. This signifies an alternate scenario. The standard mission involves helping Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead.
This is significantly harder, requiring a solo assault against Cao Cao's vast army. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will necessitate a restart. To improve your odds:
- Reduce Difficulty: Lower the difficulty to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a challenging undertaking, even at high levels.
- Choose Zhang Fei: Selecting Zhang Fei as your partner provides a closer starting position to Cao Cao's forces, saving valuable time.
Prepare your Musou Rage before engaging Cao Cao's army. You'll face two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for the latter. Once his army is routed, defeating Cao Cao himself should be more manageable. Completing a few additional missions after this victory unlocks the Shu true ending.
