How to Get Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds
Slaying monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds is exhilarating, but to truly master the hunt and gather every valuable monster part for crafting, you'll need to learn the art of trapping. This requires a specific item: Trap Tools. Here's how to acquire them.

Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't explicitly guide you to Trap Tools, but seasoned hunters from previous games will find this familiar.
Your primary source for Trap Tools is the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Simply speak with him and browse his inventory. Each set of Trap Tools costs 200 Zenny. It's advisable to purchase several, especially if you're planning extensive monster farming or aiming to capture a variety of creatures.
Currently, purchasing from the Base Camp is the only method to obtain Trap Tools; they aren't found as environmental resources.
How to Use Trap Tools
With your Trap Tools acquired, it's time to deploy them. Combine them with a Net (using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or with a Thunderbug Capacitor to craft a Shock Trap.
While both traps are effective, remember that certain monsters have immunities. For example, a Shock Trap is useless against Rey Dau, a lightning dragon. In such cases, opt for the Pitfall Trap.
Also, note that you can only carry one trap at a time. Strategically deploy them when the monster is weakened for optimal results.
