Street Fighter 6 Fans: Mark Your Calendars for February 5!

Get ready, Street Fighter 6 fans! The iconic Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series is set to join the roster on February 5, bringing her classic moves with some exciting twists. Mai will not only retain her familiar fans and other signature techniques but will also introduce unique changes and motion input moves instead of charge attacks. Players can look forward to decking her out in her classic outfit as well as new costumes from the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

In the latest gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6, fans get an in-depth look at Mai's abilities. She can now earn "Flame Stacks" to enhance her moves, adding a new layer of strategy to her gameplay. This trailer comes after a long wait since the release of the second Year 2 DLC character, Terry Bogard, on September 24, 2024, which has left many eager for more content.

Capcom's announcement at Summer Game Fest about a second year of content for Street Fighter 6 was met with excitement, especially with the collaboration between Capcom and SNK to bring Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui to the game. Alongside them, M. Bison and Elena were also confirmed for Year 2 DLC. With Bison and Terry already available, all eyes are now on Mai.

- February 5

Mai's storyline in Street Fighter 6 adds a compelling narrative to her inclusion. She ventures into Metro City in search of Terry's brother, Andy, believing he was recently there. Her journey leads her to face off against various challengers, including Juri, testing her skills and adding depth to her character within the Street Fighter universe.

The gap between DLC releases has been a point of frustration for many fans, who have also expressed disappointment with the game's battle pass system. The recent Boot Camp Bonanza battle pass offered numerous customization items but lacked the character skins that were a staple in Street Fighter 5, focusing instead on avatar items. Despite these concerns, the anticipation for Mai Shiranui's arrival remains high.
