Spotify Hit by Widespread Service Outage

Heads up: Spotify appears to be experiencing a widespread service disruption this morning.

Downdetector, an IGN affiliate site, shows reports of outages starting around 6 a.m. PT, with a significant volume continuing. Our own testing this morning encountered issues accessing the service, and when the app did open, it failed to play any music.

Spotify has acknowledged the problem and stated it is "working to resolve it as soon as possible." The company also clarified that reports linking the outage to a security breach are inaccurate.
