New Need For Speed won't come out in the nearest future

EA's Vice President, Vince Zampella, recently provided an update on the status of the Need for Speed franchise. With over two years having passed since the release of NFS Unbound, EA remains silent on future installments.

This silence stems from Criterion Games' current commitment to developing the next Battlefield title. Zampella emphasized that this Battlefield project is EA's top priority, incorporating extensive player feedback and involving four studios. The company aims to avoid repeating the missteps of Battlefield 2042, which faced significant criticism upon its release. This player-centric approach extends to future Need for Speed content as well.

It's highly probable that EA will refocus on Need for Speed only after the launch and initial post-release support for the new Battlefield game concludes. This delay might prove beneficial.
