How To Get Shroodle in Pokemon GO

Author : Jonathan Update : Mar 03,2025

The new year in Pokémon GO continues to deliver exciting new Pokémon! Following the arrival of Fidough, trainers can now obtain Shroodle, but unlike many previous additions, acquiring it isn't as simple as a standard wild encounter.

Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut

The Poison-type Shroodle makes its Pokémon GO debut on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, this relatively new Pokémon will remain available after the event concludes.

Shiny Shroodle?

At launch, Shroodle will not have a Shiny variant in Pokémon GO. Its Shiny form is anticipated to be released in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-type Pokémon or Team GO Rocket.

How to Catch Shroodle

Breaking from the typical wild spawn pattern, Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. This method is currently the sole way to acquire Shroodle.

12KM Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to hatch into Shroodle. Its hatch rate is expected to be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain part of the 12KM egg pool afterward.

Obtaining 12KM Eggs

Given Shroodle's exclusive availability from 12KM Eggs, a reminder on how to obtain these rarer eggs is helpful. They are acquired solely by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event provides an excellent opportunity to stockpile 12KM Eggs due to the increased Team GO Rocket activity and readily available Rocket Radars. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts to challenge the Leaders at any time, provided you have inventory space for an additional egg.

Grafaiai Acquisition

Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also arrives on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it's neither found in the wild nor hatched from eggs. Evolution is the only method to obtain Grafaiai, requiring 50 Shroodle Candy. This necessitates hatching multiple Shroodle or using one as your buddy Pokémon to accumulate the necessary Candy.
