The Sony Bravia XR X93L was launched in March 2023. It was the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup at the time, just behind the X95L, which was only available in an 85" screen size in the United States. The X93L features Mini LED technology, which significantly enhances HDR content. LED-backlit panels, as the name implies, use an array of LEDs that can independently turn on and off, thus improving black levels and contrast ratio. In a Mini-LED panel, the LEDs are smaller and more numerous, allowing for finer control over brightness levels within the same scene.

The X93L is also an excellent choice for gamers. It comes equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which are HDMI 2.1 spec. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K output at up to 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for current-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The upcoming Switch 2, when docked, will cap at 60fps in 4K, so you won't need HDMI 2.1 for that system.
