Pokémon Sleep Development Transitioned to Pokémon Works
The Pokémon Company's subsidiary, Pokémon Works, will assume responsibility for the development and future updates of Pokémon Sleep, previously managed by Select Button.
From Select Button to Pokémon Works
This transition, announced via the Japanese Pokémon Sleep app, marks a shift in development management. The announcement stated that development and operation were previously shared between Select Button and The Pokémon Company, but will now gradually transfer to Pokémon Works. The impact on the global version of the app remains unclear, as the news isn't yet reflected in the global app's news section.
Pokémon Works, a relatively new subsidiary formed from The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., is based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, sharing a location with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Their representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, highlighted their past contributions to Pokémon HOME and their vision to make the Pokémon experience more immersive and enjoyable for players. The specific implementation of this vision within Pokémon Sleep is yet to be revealed.
