Pokémon Adds Another Game to the NSO Library
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team Joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack
Get ready for a dungeon-crawling adventure! Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on August 9th. This classic Game Boy Advance title offers a unique roguelike experience within the Pokémon universe. Players transform into Pokémon and embark on missions to solve the mystery behind their transformation.
This addition to the Expansion Pack's library, which already includes Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis titles, is sure to excite fans.
Mainline Pokémon Games Still Sought After
While the Expansion Pack regularly receives updates, the inclusion of primarily Pokémon spin-offs (like Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Puzzle League) has left some fans wanting more. Many are hoping to see mainline entries like Pokémon Red and Blue added to the service. Speculation regarding this absence ranges from potential N64 Transfer Pak compatibility issues to challenges integrating the service with the Pokémon Home app due to Nintendo's partial ownership.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Special Offer
To celebrate the PMD: Red Rescue Team release and the upcoming Mega Multiplayer Festival (running until September 8th), Nintendo is offering a bonus two months of membership with any new 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription purchased from the eShop or My Nintendo Store. Additional perks include bonus Gold Points for game purchases between August 5th and 18th, and trials of four multiplayer Switch games from August 19th to 25th (titles to be announced). A Nintendo Mega Multiplayer game sale will also follow from August 26th to September 8th, 2024.
