Prismatic Evolutions, announced in early November 2024 with pre-orders opening shortly thereafter, is set for an international release on January 17, 2025. The set was intended to kick off the new year on a high note for the Pokemon TCG community. However, it has faced global shortages, including in the United States, leading to significant fan frustration.

In response to weeks of complaints on social media, The Pokemon Company issued a statement acknowledging the supply issues. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokemon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to address this," a company representative told IGN.

New products from the Prismatic Evolutions set that will be released post-January 2025 include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box on February 7, a Booster Bundle on March 7, an Accessory Pouch Special Collection on April 25, a Super-Premium Collection on May 16, and a Premium Figure Collection on September 26. Fans eager to try out the new cards can do so by playing the Pokemon TCG Live mobile game, where Prismatic Evolutions cards will be available through the Battle Pass starting January 16, 2025.
