Back in 2009, PopCap Games launched Plants vs Zombies on desktop, introducing players to a world that was both weird and wonderfully addictive. The sight of sunflowers smiling while zombies in traffic cones shuffled across the lawn quickly captured hearts.
The game made its way to mobile devices in 2010, and by 2012, EA acquired PopCap. The sequel, Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time, hit the scene in 2013, bringing new worlds and zany mechanics to the mix.
Meanwhile, Plants vs Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch and subsequent rework, the team is now focusing on a fresh art style and a return to classic tower defense gameplay.
