People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta
People Can Fly, the creative minds behind Bulletstorm and co-developers of Gears of War: E-Day, have recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, known as Project Delta. This project is set to be developed as a work-for-hire, though details beyond this are currently under wraps.
The studio is juggling multiple projects with intriguing codenames. Among them are Project Gemini, a collaboration with Square Enix that faced a setback with the layoff of 30 developers last year, and Project Echo, developed in partnership with Krafton. Additionally, People Can Fly is working on Project Red, which appears to be another venture with Sony, and the VR-focused Project Bison, which the studio recently announced would be their last foray into virtual reality.
Recent months have seen shifts in their project lineup. In December, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria and a scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they also canceled Project Dagger, which was slated to be an action-adventure game developed with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight projects in the pipeline. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their project with Square Enix, is expected to hit the market in 2026.
Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting developments from People Can Fly as they continue to shape the future of gaming.
