Path of Exile 2: Unveiling the Realmgate
Quick Links
The Realmgate stands as a pivotal element in the endgame of Path of Exile 2, distinguished from regular map nodes because it doesn't require Waystones for traversal. This guide will walk you through locating the Realmgate, utilizing it effectively, and preparing for what awaits on the other side. Understanding and preparing for these encounters is essential to maximize your gaming experience.
How to Find the Realmgate in PoE 2
To locate the Realmgate in Path of Exile 2, navigate to the starting point of the mapping phase. The quickest method is to click on the floating home icon on the mapping screen, which will refocus your view to the initial mapping location. Adjacent to the stone Ziggurat, you'll find the Realmgate.
Be aware that the home icon might sometimes overlap with the red skull icon, indicating the Burning Monolith's location. These two points are generally in close proximity, so clicking one will lead you to the other.
How to Use the Realmgate in PoE 2
Unlike standard map nodes, the Realmgate does not accept Waystones. Its primary function is to usher players into endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Currently, there are four such battles accessible via the Realmgate. Here's how to engage each:
- Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Gather 300
Breach Splinters to forge a Breachstone. Present this at the Realmgate to challenge Xesht.
- Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Utilize a Logbook of Level 79 or higher, obtained from Expeditions, by conversing with Dannig in your Hideout. You'll meet Dannig during Expedition maps, and after this encounter, he'll become a permanent fixture in your Hideout.
- The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Amass 300
Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum. Use this at the Realmgate to enter a map where you'll face 15 waves of Delirium foes, best tackled with a mapping setup.
- King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire An Audience With the King through the Ritual Favour system by spending Tribute. Use this at the Realmgate to confront the King in the Mists.
Note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, which conclude the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively (4th Ascendancy version), are not accessible through the Realmgate.
The ultimate endgame boss, The Arbiter or Ash, resides within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. To face this formidable opponent, you'll need to collect three Citadel keys, which you can start acquiring after your first encounter with the Burning Monolith.
