Albion Online's Rogue Frontier Update: Smugglers, New Weapons, and More!
Sandbox Interactive's medieval fantasy MMORPG, Albion Online, is set to receive its next major update, Rogue Frontier, on February 3rd. This first major update of the year introduces a host of exciting new features centered around a group of rebellious smugglers.
Outland Adventures:
The Rogue Frontier update focuses on the Smugglers, rebels who have established a presence in the Outlands, defying the Royal Continent's strict laws. They operate from hidden underground bases known as Smuggler's Dens, which serve as vital hubs for banking, repairs, and expedition planning. These dens are interconnected via the Smuggler's Network, a sophisticated system linking marketplaces across the Outlands.
Players can actively participate in the ongoing conflict between the Smugglers and the Royal Guards. Missions include rescuing captured smugglers and delivering contraband within Smuggler Crates.
Rewards for Loyalty:
By assisting the Smugglers, players earn rewards from Maggy Slade, a mysterious trader residing in the dens. These rewards include a Smuggler's Vanity Set, a Smuggler's Cape (featuring a potion cooldown reduction ability), a Smuggler's Ring, and a new avatar.
New Gameplay Mechanics:
The Rogue Frontier update introduces Kill Trophies, dropped by defeated players. The quality of the loot on the defeated opponent directly influences the chance of obtaining a Kill Trophy.
Three stylish new weapons are also added:
- Rotcaller Staff: Summons a chilling mist that repels enemies.
- Skystrider Bow: Allows levitation and ranged attacks from above.
- Forcepulse Bracers: Unleashes shockwaves upon dashing into melee combat.
