Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will commence on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. The highly anticipated console will be available for purchase starting June 5, 2025, and will retail at $449.99. Today's full reveal has set the gaming community abuzz with excitement.

For those eager to dive into the action, there's a special Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle available at launch for $499.99 in the US. This bundle includes the system and a download code for Mario Kart World, offering a comprehensive gaming package right from day one. If you prefer to purchase Mario Kart World separately, it's available for $79.99.

Currently, you can register your interest with Nintendo to be notified about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and accessories via the My Nintendo Store. Invitations to purchase will be sent out via email on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to users with a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours logged by April 2, 2025. After priority users receive their invites, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Invitations are non-transferable and valid for 72 hours, with purchases limited to one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers are also expected to open preorders on April 9, 2025.
