NieR: Automata: Discover the Secrets of Obtaining the Engine Blade
Quick Links
NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the YoRHa units, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans.
Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV makes an appearance during your first playthrough. Below, we detail its location and key stats.
Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress the story until you return as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) offers a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, follow the right path (2D camera perspective). You'll pass a fenced area, climb broken stairs, and ride conveyor belts with boxes. Navigate the next belt carefully, avoiding crushing presses. Jump to the next cylinder; two spider-like enemies will appear.
Take the left door, climbing stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, extending a platform towards the camera. This triggers another 2D platforming section; jump across presses, moving left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the left chest.
Beware: More exploding enemies descend from the ceiling as you approach.
Engine Blade Stats In NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon boasts four upgrade levels, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the erratic damage of the Iron Pipe, the Engine Blade offers more consistent damage output.
