NieR: Automata - Where To Get The Virtuous Treaty
Quick Links
NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After deploying and engaging in initial melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.
The two-handed weapon, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful early-game weapon temporarily lost after the prologue. However, you can quickly reacquire it once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.

Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is easily accessible near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. Locate the highway to the left of the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb onto the road. Following the highway will lead you back towards the factory area.
Descend into the factory and follow the grassy path towards the main structure. An access point and stairs to an upper area are situated on the left. On the upper level, locate the destroyed bridge where you encountered the Goliath-class enemy. The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the edge of this bridge.
Your discarded equipment from the prologue, containing consumables, is located just to the right of the sword.

Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2
Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels at wide-sweeping attacks, inflicting significant damage on multiple enemies. Its attack speed is notably slower. However, upgrades can potentially make it one of the highest-damage weapons in the game, provided you adapt to its slower pace. You can also integrate it into combos with faster weapons by using a heavy attack within a quicker weapon's combo sequence. While this prevents a full Virtuous Treaty combo, it offsets its slow speed while still leveraging its high damage output.
