My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued writing and filmmaking. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the story remained. Alameen, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, independently brought his vision to life, even collaborating with his wife on the game's title.
Unraveling the Mystery
My Father Lied plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, brimming with secrets, puzzles, and surprises. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, is far from straightforward.
Blending 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling, the game features simple point-and-click gameplay, stunning 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.
