Konami producer Noriaki Okamura, in a recent IGN interview, subtly hinted at the possibility of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots being remade and featured in MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside ports for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and potentially other platforms. While acknowledging the considerable fan anticipation, Okamura remained cautious, stating that internal discussions about the series' future are ongoing. He urged fans to "stay tuned."

The possibility of an MGS4 PS5 port has long been a topic of discussion among fans, especially given the PS3 exclusivity of the original game. The successful launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring remastered versions of the first three games on various platforms, including PC and Switch, further fuels this speculation.

Last year, reports surfaced about placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appearing on Konami's official timeline, leading many to believe these titles would be part of Master Collection Vol. 2. This, coupled with David Hayter (Solid Snake's English voice actor) hinting at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media, only intensified the anticipation.
