Mastering Monster Capture Techniques in Monster Hunter Wilds

Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but sometimes, capturing them is necessary to collect all their valuable parts. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to effectively capture monsters in this exciting game.

Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward yet strategic. The key is to weaken the monster first. Once the monster is sufficiently damaged, your Palico will signal its weakened state. You'll also notice other indicators, such as a skull icon appearing over the monster on your minimap, and the monster itself may start limping or drooling, signaling low HP.

With the monster weakened, it's time to set your trap. Choose between a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap, placing it on the ground and luring the monster into it. Once the monster is caught in the trap, it will be immobilized for a short period, giving you the perfect opportunity to use Tranq Bombs. Typically, one or two Tranq Bombs will suffice to capture the monster. Alternatively, depending on your weapon and preferred playstyle, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades.

Successfully capturing a monster will conclude the quest and transport you back to Base Camp, ready to collect your rewards.

How to Get Traps and Tranq Items

While your Palico may occasionally set traps, it's advisable to bring your own. You have two types of traps at your disposal: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. Crafting a Pitfall Trap requires a Trap Tool and a Net, which can be made from Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.

For Tranq items, you can create a Tranq Bomb using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. These Tranq Bombs can be combined with Throwing Knives to make Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to produce Tranq Ammo, tailored to your preferred combat approach.
