Nexus Mods, a popular platform for game modifications, finds itself at the center of a heated controversy after removing over 500 mods in a single month. The removal of two mods for Marvel Rivals, one replacing Captain America's head with Joe Biden's image and the other with Donald Trump's, ignited a firestorm of debate.

The platform's owner, known as TheDarkOne, clarified the situation on Reddit, stating that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. He highlighted the curious silence of YouTube commentators on this simultaneous removal.

The situation escalated when TheDarkOne revealed that he and the platform received numerous threats and abusive messages following the removal of the mods. These ranged from death threats to accusations of pedophilia.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods has faced backlash over mod removals. A similar incident occurred in 2022 involving a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags. The platform's stance on inclusivity and its commitment to removing content deemed discriminatory were reiterated at that time.

TheDarkOne concluded by stating the platform's unwillingness to engage with those who oppose its policies on diversity and inclusion.
