Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut

Marvel Rivals is launching its first season, "Eternal Night Falls," on January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasting double the content of a typical season. This expanded offering is a deliberate choice by the developers, driven by the desire to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group.

This supersized season will feature:

  • Three new maps: The Sanctum Sanctorum (available at launch, for the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
  • The Fantastic Four: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) arrive at launch, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster in a mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.

The decision to release the Fantastic Four together necessitated a larger-than-usual season, according to Creative Director Guangyun Chen. While the developers haven't detailed how this impacts future seasons' content, it's currently anticipated that the pattern of adding two characters per season will continue.

While the expanded content has generated excitement, the absence of Blade in Season 1 has disappointed some fans. However, the possibility of his future inclusion remains open. With the substantial content of Season 1 and ongoing speculation, the future of Marvel Rivals looks bright.
