Marvel Rivals Developer Says There's Currently No Plan for a PvE Mode

Author : Sophia Update : Mar 21,2025

Marvel Rivals, while relatively new, is already sparking player speculation about future content, particularly a PvE mode. Recent rumors of a potential PvE boss fight fueled this excitement, but NetEase has clarified that a full PvE mode isn't currently planned.

However, during a conversation with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit, a glimmer of hope emerged. Wu stated that while there are no immediate PvE plans, the development team actively explores new gameplay modes. If a mode proves sufficiently engaging and fun, it will be introduced to players. Further emphasizing this, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo inquired about the desirability of a PvE mode, reinforcing the team's awareness of player interest. Wu elaborated, noting that a hardcore PvE experience would significantly differ from the current game's core mechanics, requiring careful experimentation with various approaches, potentially including a "lighter" PvE mode or event.

Currently, NetEase remains tight-lipped on specifics, but the possibility of a less extensive PvE experience, perhaps a limited-time event, isn't entirely ruled out. Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals continues its regular updates, introducing new characters approximately every six weeks. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also touched upon potential Nintendo Switch 2 release and addressed speculation about intentionally misleading dataminers with fake hero leaks.
