Margaret Qualley Joins Death Stranding Cast After Bizarre Perfume Ad Dance
Hideo Kojima has announced that he cast Margaret Qualley in the role of Mama in Death Stranding after being captivated by her performance in a Spike Jonze-directed Kenzo fragrance advertisement.
On April 25, Kojima shared the impactful commercial on Twitter, stating, "I saw this and offered her the role of Mama (Lockne) in Death Stranding."
The advertisement features Qualley engaging in a dynamic dance to a pulsating bass track, reminiscent of the style seen in Fat Boy Slim's iconic "Weapon of Choice" video, which showcased Christopher Walken's memorable dance moves.
Qualley portrays Mama — Målingen — in *Death Stranding*, a pivotal character renowned for her inventive genius within the United Cities of America. Alongside her twin sister, Lockne, also portrayed by Qualley, they pioneered the Chiral Network, a vital communication system for Bridges that enables instant data transmission.In the Kenzo fragrance ad, Qualley executes a unique and choreographed dance, featuring intense movements, facial expressions, and even moments where she appears to emit lasers from her fingers.
