The last major Baldur's Gate III patch entered the stress test stage
Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out of the test are advised to reinstall the game.
Patch 8 introduces several significant updates, most notably cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now team up regardless of platform. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.
Xbox Series S users will finally be able to enjoy split-screen co-op, a highly anticipated feature previously unavailable on that platform.
Additional improvements in Patch 8 include a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues may persist. A detailed changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official website.
