Live-Action Lilo, Cobra Bubbles, and Pleakley Revealed in New Lilo & Stitch Trailer
The highly anticipated live-action remake of *Lilo & Stitch* has taken a major step forward with the release of its official trailer, offering fans our most detailed glimpse yet at the film’s central characters. Maia Kealoha steps into the iconic role of Lilo, bringing her own unique energy to the character previously portrayed by Daveigh Chase in the 2002 animated classic. The trailer puts Kealoha firmly in the spotlight, giving audiences a taste of how she will interpret Lilo’s spirited and unconventional personality.
Joining her is Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, the sharp-witted social worker with a secret extraterrestrial mission, and Billy Magnussen as the eccentric Pleakley. Zach Galifianakis also makes an appearance as Jumba, the rogue scientist responsible for creating Stitch. One of the more intriguing elements revealed in the trailer is that Jumba and Pleakley appear to be disguised as humans during parts of the story—though Pleakley’s alien form does make a brief but memorable cameo.
Fans of the original film will also appreciate the inclusion of several beloved scenes reimagined for this new version. From Stitch's dramatic entrance resembling a falling star to his clever transformation at the animal shelter, the movie stays true to its roots while adding fresh cinematic flair. Perhaps one of the most emotionally resonant moments comes when Lilo delivers the now-famous line: “Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
Disney’s *Lilo & Stitch* will hit theaters on **May 23, 2025**, continuing the studio’s trend of reimagining classic animated films through a live-action lens. This release follows closely after another Disney live-action project, *Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs*, which arrives in cinemas on **March 21, 2025**.
