LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set

Author : Isaac Update : Apr 01,2025

LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex

**Release Date**: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
**Price**: $249.99
**Pieces**: 3,145
**Ages**: 18+
**Dimensions**: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

Comprising 3,145 pieces, this set is designed for an adult audience (18+), making it ideal for display rather than play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques, challenging for younger builders. The scale of the set can be hard to grasp from images alone, but the inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures helps to put things into perspective. At over three feet long, the skeleton's skull mirrors the design of the currently available LEGO T-rex skull, which has been well-received (my son built it and it looks fantastic). The full skeleton significantly enhances the visual impact of the new set.

The T-rex skeleton boasts articulated joints, allowing for various poses. The head and jaw can move, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO sets inspired by films, this one is filled with hidden Easter eggs for builders to discover. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and other fascinating facts.

While the LEGO Jurassic World series may not yet rival the size of LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter collections, it's rapidly expanding. As a fan, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
