Pokémon Unite Adds Three New Characters Next Month
- Pokémon Unite is welcoming three new Pokémon to its roster
- Empoleon arrives on September 19th, with Dhelmise and Vaporeon following soon after
- Groudon will also appear in Theia Sky Ruins starting September 4th
Whoever imagined turning Pokémon into a MOBA must be a mad genius. However unconventional the concept, it's clearly resonated with many players. If you're among them, you'll be excited to learn that Pokémon Unite's chaotic battles are growing with three fresh additions!
These newcomers will arrive gradually. Empoleon leads the charge on September 19th, followed later by Dhelmise and Vaporeon. These three will join an already impressive lineup of Pokémon battling it out in League-style MOBA matches.
Meanwhile, jungle explorers will discover Groudon appearing in Theia Sky Ruins beginning September 4th! Defeat it to gain a special buff for your Pokémon. If you defeat a Groudon that already has this effect, the buff will transfer to you!

While their release dates seem distant, many players will already be thrilled by the news of three upcoming Pokémon Unite characters. They'll undoubtedly make an impact on the popular esports scene as well.
In the meantime, there's plenty of existing content to enjoy. Pokémon Unite masterfully adapts the League of Legends MOBA format while incorporating the unique abilities from the beloved Pokémon franchise. If Groudon's inclusion is any indication, we can anticipate more legendary Pokémon emerging in the jungle lanes soon.
