Honkai Nexus Anima Sparks Pokemon-Like Fan Theories

MiHoYo has teased a brand-new Honkai game that appears to be a Pokémon-style experience. Explore the trailer details and whether this could be the rumored Honkai Nexus Anima.
New Honkai Game Revealed
Potentially a Pokémon-Inspired Adventure

MiHoYo has unveiled their next project, showcasing beloved characters from the Honkai universe. During the Honkai Star Rail concert livestream on May 4, the company shared a 20-second preview featuring Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail, both summoning creatures to engage in combat.
The teaser suggests gameplay similar to Pokémon-style battles, potentially incorporating auto-chess strategy or monster-collecting mechanics. This direction aligns with the creature-focused content in Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, where fans have embraced various beings, inspiring the developers to create a dedicated game around them.
Both games have previously featured events centered on monsters. Genshin Impact includes a capture mechanic that allows players to collect creatures in their Serenitea Pot housing system. The "Fabulous Fungus Frenzy" event also enabled players to capture Fungi and compete in a beast tamer tournament.

Similarly, Honkai Star Rail introduced the "Aetherium Wars" event, utilizing turn-based mechanics where players battle alongside in-game monsters—a concept reminiscent of Pokémon.
The upcoming untitled game seems to include multiple characters from the series, as the teaser concludes with silhouettes of familiar faces, possibly including Aventurine from Star Rail.
Described as a "brand-new Honkai Game," it has sparked hopes among fans that Genshin Impact characters might also appear. While details remain scarce, the preview indicates that Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail characters will play prominent roles.
Could This Be Honkai Nexus Anima?

Many speculate that this game is the rumored Honkai Nexus Anima, for which MiHoYo recently filed a trademark. Although the trademark filing reveals little, the timing between the trademark and the teaser has fueled community theories.
Previous job listings from MiHoYo may also relate to this new Honkai title. As reported by Enduins Gaming in September 2024, HoYoVerse posted openings for roles such as "Character Concept Art (Anthropomorphic Animals)" for a chibi-life simulation and "Scene Concept Art – Honkai IP Pre-research" for fantasy spirit companions.

Since MiHoYo confirmed this as a new Honkai game, fans have connected the dots to Honkai Nexus Anima. However, no official confirmation exists, and these remain speculative.
Despite the teaser, many questions linger about the game's true nature and whether it is indeed Honkai Nexus Anima. Nonetheless, MiHoYo's track record ensures that players can anticipate an innovative and engaging experience.
