"Guide: Muting Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds"
In the world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, engaging in multiplayer doesn't necessarily mean you have to chat out loud. However, if you're keen on using voice communication without resorting to external platforms like Discord, understanding how to manage voice chat within the game is essential.
How to Use and Mute Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds
All voice chat settings are conveniently located in the audio section of the menu. Navigate to the options, accessible either in-game or from the main menu screen, and select the tab third from the right. Scroll down slightly to find the Voice Chat settings, which offer three options: enable, disable, and push-to-talk. Choosing 'enable' keeps the voice chat always active, 'disable' turns it off completely, and 'push-to-talk' allows you to activate it by pressing a designated key on your keyboard. Note that push-to-talk is only available for keyboard users.
Further customization includes adjusting the voice chat volume, which controls how loud you hear other players, and the voice chat auto-toggle feature. The auto-toggle can be set to prioritize communication with quest members, link party members, or to remain static without automatic switching. Quest members are those directly involved in your current quest, making this setting ideal for most players. On the other hand, link members are those in your link party, perfect for scenarios where you're assisting someone through the storyline and need to wait for them during cutscenes.
While *Monster Hunter Wilds* provides an in-game voice chat option, it's worth mentioning that the audio quality may not match that of dedicated communication apps. For the best experience, especially in cross-platform play, using external apps is recommended. Nonetheless, having the in-game voice chat available adds convenience and flexibility to your gameplay.
