GTA 6: S-Tier Potential? Ranking All Rockstar Games
The new GTA 6 trailer has arrived, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, we'll need to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. While we wait, let's reminisce about the Rockstar games we've enjoyed over the years and rank them for fun.
Rockstar has crafted over 30 games since 1998, bringing us iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems shines the brightest? Note that this list focuses solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles they've published such as LA Noire or Max Payne 2. I've ranked them based on my personal enjoyment using an IGN Tier List. Here's how it looks:
Red Dead Redemption 2 tops my list as my all-time favorite, easily securing an S-tier spot. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both of which revolutionized the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a special fondness for Max Payne 3's bullet time mechanics and GTA San Andreas, which I played far too young. At the bottom of the list in D-tier, you'll find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are generally not well-regarded.
Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you believe Vice City outshines GTA 4? Feel free to create your own tier list and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the IGN community.
